In addition to awards in key categories, the Best Employers Eastern Region initiative also confers accreditations on organisations that have performed particularly well. These are in recognition of the efforts made by those organisations, in the light of the survey, to bring about continuous improvement and to show they are listening to their employees. We were impressed with how Thalidomide Trust have developed a clear ethos and values that underpin all they do as a charity and how their employees are connected to this purpose and have a sense of pride in the work they do. Celebrating the success of their people is an important part of what makes Smithfield Foods a good place to work.
